Falco. I used to main Dr Mario, then I picked up Falco and realized why he is top tier. =p

Luigi and Ganondorf. I've been doing quite well on tourneys with these two. =D

I'm a total n00000b at vs. mode.
My best character is probably Falcon or Ganondorf, though.

I'm not a VS mode Elite, but I do play a fairly (note that I said FAIR, which can also be used for downright horrible in some books. *looks at the Falcon players at SMYM 6) skilled Jigglypuff. I know I could do a lot better if I had more tournament experience. =)

I started playing Fox a little bit. Is shdl really essential for Fox? Should I be using the laser a lot? I miss most of them anyway >_>. I am good at waveshining though =D

Boozer is teh sux. He's bad...really bad. He's too fat to escape from combos, too fat to combo opponents, too fat to recover, too fat to move. However, he has the best upB on the ground in the game.

Boozer isn't slow >_> He has lag from SOME attacks, some of which can be l-canceled. He has a huge shield, great for shieldgrabbing. He is ridiculously heavy and strong. Amazing horizontal recovery. Fortress has many ways of being used and can deal out 30%. His edge attack when hp is 99% or lower is very good. He has the strongest smash in the game. So he's big and easy to combo, unless you CC Fortress since it hits in 1 frame, but who cares. Everyone has their weaknesses. Oh and his knockback is insane. You were saying Echoist?

Amazing horizontal recovery? One of the worst in the game. His sheild is small which makes it easy for attcks to go through it. He's so easy to edgeguard, his first jump takes 15 frames and his wd is uselles. His only good move is upB and nothing else. (Fair and u-tilt is good too but still)
Also, almost nobody uses Bowser on tourneys. Why? Because people use Sheik, Falco, Fox, Samus, Peach, Marth etc, the chances to win with them are high, while Bowser doesn't stand a chance against them and his chances to win are very very low.
Bottom tier = lose.

It seems that Bowser can only get KOs by throwing opponents out of the stage and edgecamp.

Umm Echoist Boozer has a good horizontal recovery, you must be thinking of vertical His shield is one of the biggest in the game! And tier means nothing. Also I don't WD with Boozer, I SH WL, which still works for mindgames. Plenty of people are easy to edgeguard if the player edgeguarding has good skill. You need to make points about Boozer, not the people playing them. EDIT: And how right are you Stelzig?! Ever seen shined blind? He waveshines and shinepikes everyone... So? It works >_>

No. Bowser's horizontal recovery does suck. If you don't have your second jump you're pretty screwed, even if you do have it.
Tiers does mean something, that's why there's a tier list. Fox and Falco will always win against Bowser.
Not all chars are easy to edgeguard, like sheik, pichu and pikachu. Ganondorf and CF's recoveries are one of the most easiest to edgeguard.

He has one of the biggest shields phazon, but he is also one of the biggest characters so i doesn't really mean that that shield protects him better...

I'm pretty sure everybody knows in themselves that a characters weaknesses and strengths mean nothing. Only the players skill. Thus ending this discussion =D

It does mean something.
Some chars are better than others, which means higher chance of winning.
Ex Falco vs Ganon, Falco has the advantage.

Ok then. Tier means SOMETHING! Suprisingly little though.

Some player will eventually be limited because he has reached max potential with one character and it is low tier. He would have to use another character to get better. The tiers in ssb:m are very balanced compared to many other games so it may be hard to see and for most people it doesn't matter much because barely anyone gets close to a characters max potential. But if you take a look at another game i play alot (MKDS) then the tiers are suddenly way obvious and there's no doubt that egg1, dry bomber, poltergust4000 and ROB-BLS are the top tiers

No particular order: Doctor Mario, Marth, Samus, Falco, Jigglypuff, Ness, Fox, Shiek, Mario, Captain Falcon, Luigi, Mewtwo, G&W, Zelda... I guess you can say I'm a very well rounded player. Though I use Falco, Sheik mainly. Edit: Fox, Marth, Samus, Purin, Doctor Mario as Secondaries. G&W sometimes, just to throw the opponent off.
