GamePower Tornament 2: SSBB online

Hello dear smashers

I will be creating a Brawl online tournament when the game will comes out. I don't have much to say as an intro, so let's skip this part =)

How to pre-register

You can pre-register by filling those informations:

Nickname
email
Friend WIi code
Tournaments that you want to participate.


You can register until 1st of february. About february 10, I will send you an email asking you if you still can participate, giving you the dates of the tournament and asking you your code wii friend for brawl.
you can also register your friends and take the same wii.


Rules

1VS1

4 stock
No time limit
With all objects (because it will be one of the first time we'll play)
All stages
Only the main characters (you can't use the ones that you unlocked (because some doesn't want to get spoil ^^'))


We will do one or more pools, to know who will play in the brackets. It will be best of 3 (First to win 2 matchs)

After the pools, it will be brackets, Double elimination. For the first set of ''bracket'' it will be best of 3, after it will be best of 5.

The winner of the first match chooses first his next character, then the looser.

Price:

1st) 1 or 2 game (that you will choose) on virtual console, (1000 points) (1 games of N64 or 2 games of SNES)
2nd) 1 game of virtual console (500 points)
3rd) idem then 2nd


2VS2 (if we're enough)
4 stock
No time limit
Friendly Fire: On
With objects
All stages
Only the main characters
Best of 3 for the first bracket
Best of 5 for the other brackets
It will be on brackets, double elimination

Price

1st) one or 2 games each (1000 wii points) on virtual console

The number of lives left from the previous match will be the number of lives you will have against the next player

*You can register from any country, I just need to be sure that it will work north america - europe
**If your not canadian, there will be no price for you. This is because I can't send virtual console games in another

I think brawl will have the region lock so europe won't be able to play US anyway.

in the news (from dojo) where they announced the online... they said that if we play USA-Japan, there might be some lags, but it will work ^^

and If you tell me: Well because both are NTSC

in french, they said ''Si vous jouez en france contre un japonais, ca pourrait lagger''.. it means: If you are from france vs a japenese, it could lag. And france is PAL.

So I guess it will work =)

About the no unlocked characters thing: He said that when you play online, you'll be able to play as anyone, including all the unlockable characters.

I thought he meant that we could choose only the character we have, but the others could use any of them

I'm not sure you can trust the french translation on that one. The translator may not have thought it true. Or maybe he doesn't even know wether it will be with region lock or not

I think the fact that the "with everyone" symbol is a globe gives a bigger hope for no region lock

As absurd as it is, it's happened once before. Mario Strikers charged (from what I was told) can not play online with NTSC to PAL. I know, it's the dumbest thing in the world. Hopefully they'll be smart enough to make Brawl world-wide.

Just figured I would tell everyone that I'm pre-registering... and that my registration will be void if Jigglypuff does not return. My options then will be to just buy it for what it is, or to spend my 50$ on something else.

Yes exactly. Online mode was region-locked in mario strikers charged. It was possible to play against australian people from europe though because they are both PAL. You could even play in the australian league by changing your wii's country to Australia.
I dont' get why they did it either. Making a continental/regional search and a worldwide search like they already did in MKDS was much better.

Let's be honest. Who here expexted at least one more delay? I know I did. It really doesn't anger me at all. I enjoy reading about how these snobs who complain about every last update (that isn't a character update) have to wait even longer. =)

Chances are the game was delayed so they could produce more. People fail to realize that Nintendo has to supply the US, Canada, impatient European importers (I don't blame them. They're usually given the short end of the stick for every game) and idiots that buy two copies just to be jerks by themselves. We should all give Nintendo some room, anyway. We're lucky Brawl even exists. =p

This new release date is on the same day as my Wii's 1 year anniversary.

And my sisters birthday

So. I guess we Europeans get this game in 2009. Or do we? Lets wait and see!
