hey there are a few things in smash I don't get... anyone know how to do one of these, I'm sure they are not all that hard.
1. foxtrot 2. that glitch where you bounce of the top of the screen after getting hit in vs... like a ceiling 3. which attack of marth can you use to stop falco's up-b attack?... his smash doesn't seem to work >__>
can someone help me?

1. Do you know how to dashdance ? Alternate right and left on the stick. If you do it fast, it's almost useless... If you don't hold it, your character will just run a bit before stopping (during this animation, you can't crouch cancel). Useful dash dance is done like this : right... (wait a bit) left... (wait a bit) right... etc. Never hold the direction. Foxtrot is done by doing this but without alternating the direction, always left... left... left... or right... right... etc. Instead of tactactactac (sound of the stick <___<), it must be tac...tac...tac... Doing so, you're supposed to go faster than if you run with some chars (Fox, Marth....) But in the end, it's completely useless, so don't do it ^^
2. It works mostly with LouisGee. If your opponent shield (powershield or an almost-powershield) your attack, and attacks you back immediatly, you'll hit an invisible ceiling
3. F-smash, down tilt, counter... A jab is good to make Falco fall lower and make it easier to edgeguard

Yup, that must be because you held the control stick in that direction. There are two steps in the running animation 1st- Dash : During that time, you can't crouch cancel or use any down attack (no shine, no dsmash, no dtilt etc...). If you don't release the direction, you'll enter the 2nd step 2nd- Run : After a short time (depending on the char) your character will truly run if you held the stick toward a direction. You can use down attacks, crouch cancel and all. And if you press the opposite direction, there will be an animation to turn around (which won't occur in the dash animation : that's dashdancing)
Making the difference between these two steps may help a lot =p Foxtrot is just a succession of dashes

A fast dashdance isn't useless <_<

Right left rght left right left several time as fast as possible is useless. A single fast dashdance isn't

*xalts thieum*, thanks a lot again... I've got new things I don't get >__>
new karma questions (1 karma each):
- I was playing falco vs falco with my brother and I SHL'd and then reflected, I landed and reflected. We were close to each other and we weren't even trying to reflect anymore, but it did automatically. The laser went back and forth a lot. Then, his shield broke. Any idea why?
- how do you select the stages you want under 'random' at the stage selection screen?

Falcos Reflector. You may not realize it, but that is simular to his sheild. You can hold it for a set amount of time, before it will break. The game does that.
To test this out, Put red shells on very high on hyrule. Do marios cape to reflect them. He randomly has a sheild break too. Or mewtwo's side b. There are other attacks too.
And for the random stage thing, i cant remember how i got it. But according to gamespot :
Mode Unlock: Random Stage
Unlock every stage except for Battlefield, Final Destination, Dream Land N64, Yoshi's Island N64, and Kongo Jungle N64. This option appears in Additional Rules under Custom Rules in VS mode and allows you to exclude stages you don't want to go to when you use the Random stage select option.
First, make sure you have all stages except those. (You can have them unlocked, its just that it doesnt help you unlocking the random stage select)
If you do, check onto custom rules, go onto additional rules and see if you have it.
Hope ive helped. =)

Not a question of time, but of power of what you reflect. If a Fox reflects a red shell 5 times, before a Falco comes and reflects that same shell once more, Falco's shine will break. Hitting the shell will reset its power Isai does it. M2K does it... <_< *watches 3 random vids of each* ... No they're not <_< Show me where (Are we talking about the same thing ?)

I tried the foxtrot thing and it's actually usefull I think >_>
you can run over the entire field and turn around immediately, which is nice because you can't usually do that

It isn't a foxtrot, he was already out of the dash animation and was running. Since he needed to dash dance, he pressed down to cancel his run, then dashdanced. It's not even the same purpose as a foxtrot (going faster) ^^
