This seemed pretty popular on GameFAQs, but more popular on Cyberscore. Anyways... This is how fast you can Escape from Brinstar in Adventure Mode. Everyone gets 40 seconds to start out with. (for debug menu users) Here are the current scores so far.
24.31 - Dr. Mario - LinksDarkArrows 24.54 - Mario - oNLNr 25.99 - Luigi - oNLNr 00.00 - Bowser 00.00 - Peach 00.00 - Yoshi 24.37 - Donkey Kong - oNLNr 29.00 - Captain Falcon - oNLNr 00.00 - Ganondorf 00.00 - Falco 29.64 - Fox - Doraki 00.00 - Ness 00.00 - Ice Climbers 21.93 - Kirby - oNLNr 24.96 - Samus - oNLNr 00.00 - Zelda 00.00 - Shiek 00.00 - Link 00.00 - Young Link 00.00 - Pichu 00.00 - Pikachu 00.00 - Jigglypuff 00.00 - Mewtwo 25.29 - Mr. Game and Watch - oNLNr 00.00 - Marth 00.00 - Roy
A lot of levels haven't been played yet. So perhaps some people here would like to fill in the gaps.
There is also a slight chance of this ending up on the Cyberscore charts.

I'd totally do these if I had an AR :\ How are you timing these: subtracting the remaining time on the clock from 40, or are these the remaining times on the clock?

You don't. It's just way faster to play with one. You can continue through Adventure if you want to. But that would just suck.

Like i said on cyberscore, wouldn't it be better to base the records on the points you get for time remaining? I know you can calculate that, but i just think it would be better that way

Stelzig, to be perfectly honest. I think score based competitions suck. <_<
I have nothing against them, but if you can do it with time, I would honestly prefer them. But what ever Cyberscore decides to do, I'll play anyway.

Edit: Nevermind, infinite jump was on for some reason.

Young Link: 26.21 I challenge someone to beat this. It wasn't done by AR'ing the stage either
