If you didn't see my other thread on the general board or just haven't heard about this, there's a new Smash site on the block, called All is Brawl.
www.allisbrawl.com
A ton of us feel that it's appropriate to relocate our main stadium discussion to this forum. GameFAQs is simply no good anymore, Smashboards has been sucking lately, and SmashVRs feels kind of like a closet that few new players will find. All Is Brawl is hopefully going to become even greater than Smashboards in the near-future.
But what really makes the site great is that nealdt, the administrator, is going out of his way to give us an incredible amount of features for scores and videos.
Some Stadium-specific features will include:
-Score lists and rankings for all members
-A database of when every score was achieved
-Video databases, with scores automatically linking to their videos and stuff like that.
-Forums that aren't crappy like GameFAQs
-A live chatroom: Revival of Stadium chats?
-Articles highlighting new strategies and scores, which will expose the mass Smash community to Stadium.
-The moderation team for Stadium is currently Cort, marth1, and me
-If you have any features you'd like to see you can just ask nealdt and if he likes it he'll try to add it
Here's a list of features just for videos:
* Categorization by game, mode, submode, players, characters
* Easy searching and browsing
* Easy upload process imports info from Youtube
* Commenting and rating separate from Youtube
* Albums group similar videos together
* Forum topic for videos and albums that tie into comment system
There's also pretty much everything you'd ever want when it comes to stuff besides Stadium, such as easy matchmaking, a stage builder forum (where you can download stages!), tournament organization and archives, and social-networking Smash style.
One of the really good things about making this move is that we will be exposed to the actual Smash community, not those noobs on GameFAQs. We should be able to draw in many many new players or at least raise awareness about what we do.
It may seem weird for me to be promoting leaving this site, as I helped getting it to where it is today, but I think it's for the best, and after all, this site was meant to be a MELEE site, not a Brawl site. If for some reason All Is Brawl doesn't catch on (which I doubt), then at least we got a new home with many useful features.
ps: the site launched only a couple weeks ago and there's still a lot of bugs that neal is fixing, so if you encounter any weird glitches be sure to report it to him!
