Hajime Wakai (Nintendo) Pikmin series / Star Fox series
*Notices this in the list of musicians*
I think Captain Olimar has a very good chance of being in the game. I don't know why I never thought of him before.
EDIT:
OMG there is a KH guy. KH characters just don't fit in at all!
EDIT2:
I listened to that music.. >_> It's a mess. Terrible!

Did you ever consider the music could just be for stagethemes? They could easily make a pikmin stage and still not add any characters for that game. And we don't know for sure that he will even be working on music related to his previous works either

Yes I did take that into consideration, but it wouldn't seem wrong to put Captain Olimar in the game. I just only thought of it when I saw that.
Stelzig, do you actually like the music?

Alot of people seems to like it. I think it is a little to repetetive in the beginning. I liked the original menu song (from ssbm) better than this one, but this isn't bad either

That makes sense, Stelzig. (A Link to the Past) Phazon's Ocarina of Time thing is reasonable, too. A lot of us were given our first 3-D Zelda game at the time when 3-D gaming was still amazing. I can only assume that you jumped into it on one of the many Gamecube ports?
The beginning is old, but they changed the rest so well that it makes you just wanna "brawl." I just hope that they have some newer music instead of updating the older Melee music.
As for the rest of the music. They could have just been showing their previous work. You can often get an idea of what they will bring to your ears after you see how they've composed before. I'm also not ruling out the hint that they might be characters, and even stages without characters. Hell, even extra music without the character. (think of Balloon Fight on Icicle Mountain here) But let's be realistic. Nintendo said we won't get many 3rd party characters, and A LOT of those seem 3rd party to me. =/
Hopefully Nintendo will stick by their word and update as often as they said. =) If not, oh well. We'll all be playing this game in under 7 months.

Stelzig this is the battlefield song not the menu song. That's why i'm against it >_>. IMO opinion they put too much effort into the music, over did it and it just isn't good.
You're right LDA my first LoZ game was WW >_>. I probably would have appreciated OoT more if I had have played it on my n64 when it was released and not on my Wii from the collecter's edition disk. Having said that, I love MM. That was awesome. I love the first ever game aswell. There might just be something about OoT that I just can't put my finger on.
When you say 3rd person, you can't mean Captain Olimar. He just isn't 3rd person. I would like him in the game, despite the fact that I despise the pikmin series.

When i read it it said "menu1"... *goes to read again* Edit: Again i don't see it being said that it is the battlestage theme anywhere (all it says is menu1 from ssbm). In fact it doesn't even mention that this particular song will be part of brawl. Edit: And Oot was my first zelda so i of course love that one (And master quest is just as good ;p) I also like the games i tried later than alttp (TP and maybe also WW don't remember if that game was before or after >_>), but i usually don't compare 2D and 3D zelda's. They're too different. Not the same experiences at all.

I only just realized that the Menu 1 music is a remix of the SSBM menu music.

Here's the best 3rd party list I came up with. Please note that I'm not entirely sure on which ones are or are not 3rd party, but let me tell you this... the list is huge. Please tell me if I added some by mistake, or missed a few. - Metal Gear Solid - Melty Lancer Series (about 50% sure) - Romancing Saga - Cho Aniki - Ape Escape 2 - Chelnov - God Hand - Monster Hunter - Devil May Cry - Wild Arms - Grandia - NiGHTS - Kamaitachi no Yoru 2 - Chrono Trigger - Xenogears - Kingdom Hearts - SYLPHEED - Street of Rage A few of those seem to be Anime, too. I thought Brawl wasn't going to be infected with that. That's why I believe they are simply showing previous work. Because this really doesn't seem like a Nintendo game anymore.

Stelzig go on stages and scroll down to the bottom. It tells you there.
LDA I haven't heard of a large number of those game. But if it was me I would add Turok. He seems worthy imo.

meh. Well it is definetly horrible gameplay music too. But it will possibly work if it isn't too loud. That music is worse than those annoying non-transparent icons they have made now.

Yeah. Except how to play. That one is good too. I hope they will put in the games actual "how to play" video in. When i first saw that one i actually expected it to be exactly that xD

I personally really like the menu song. It gives the game a really epic feel right from the start.

The music reminds me of the music in Ogre Battle 64... which is a perfect sound for the type of game that Ogre Battle 64 is, but For Smash, I'm not sure. But I do like the song, dont get me wrong, I'm just curious if it will fit.
And also, as already stated, the list of musicians has nothing to do with characters or anything, its just a list of past work.

It seems overdone. They just put too many loud obnoxious, sounds into the song, which completely ruined it. If the sounds were toned down and I was actually able to hear the song, I might enjoy it.
Nobody seems to understand. I didn't say Captain Olimar was in the game because of that musician. I said it because when I saw Pikmin, I got reminded of him and his chances of being in the game.

I think Mute City and Final Destination can sound just as "obnoxious" at times. I think we should be confident in the composers, especially in this case where they have so many credentials. For a director so concerned about the music, I doubt he would let the music ruin the game.

I don't see any of Melee's songs as obnoxious. Mute City perfectly suits the style of the level and CF in general.
I can't imagine fighting to menu music though and especially that song.
It sounds like the old menu music and then.. Well I don't know what they did to it. It definately is far worse than any music from Melee. I hope they change it >_>

I personally didn't see what was wrong with that music, it sounded good to me. Also, I noticed Kazumi Totaka was in that list, so that most likely means Totaka's song will probably be hidden in the game somewhere. If you don't know what I mean by this, watch this video: youtube.com/watch?v=eLMAgcGA8Dw

Mario and Link are on the character list now, so atleast they are updating =P
It also says the site is updated every weekday =D!

I think it's really great that we're so close to new information. Knowing that it's right around the corner makes the old character profiles a cake walk. Let's just hope they don't stop after they've revealed all of the old information.
my predictions for tomorrow are Kirby and Piakchu. Of course, I'm sure the rest of you assume that, too.

I agree, but unfortunately if they are only updating on weekdays then by the end of the week there will be nothing new and I will have to wait another 2 days. I wouldn't even mind seeing old characters like DK and Jiggs just to see what they look like.

I personally really like the menu song. It gives the game a really epic feel right from the start. Me too. It beats the smash bros melee menu 1 song. And it is the music for the battlefield. And im happy it is. As LDA said, It may be dissapointing to not see the information tou were expecting, but it is nice to get new information.
